The Spaniard has alternated big shots with unusual errors for a player of his caliber, but his real goal is to win as many games as possible in Barcelona to put important minutes in his legs and arrive prepared for the final rush on clay.

Alcaraz conceded more chances than expected to Roberto Bautista Agut. The match, however, still ended with the score 6-3, 7-5 in his favor.
Stefanos Tsitsipas instead beat Denis Shapovalov. The number two seed wore tape on his right arm for the second consecutive match due to an unidentified problem.
