Aryna Sabalenka says she absolutely wants to become a mother one day though she is unsure whether that will happen in the next few years or 10 years.
Over the weekend, world No. 2 Sabalenka held a Q&A session on Instagram. While the majority of questions were tennis-related, one fan decided to ask a personal question – which Sabalenka gladly answered.
“Do you wanna have kids,” a fan asked.
Answering the question, the 25-year-old Belarusian highlighted she is absolutely hoping that happens one day.
“Yes I do. Maybe in five years, or 10, or maybe in three. I’ll let universe decide this (laughing emoji),” Sabalenka wrote.
Sabalenka loves taking care of her boyfriend’s three kids
For a couple of years now, Sabalenka has been in a relationship with former Belarusian hockey player Konstantin Koltsov. Koltsov, 42, was previously married and he has three kids.
Over the last few years, Sabalenka has posted numerous times about spending time with her boyfriend’s kids. In one post from 2022, Sabalenka told a fan “guess yes” when asked if she would one day be an amazing stepmother.
Meanwhile, Sabalenka answered some other fan questions during her Instagram Q&A session. Answering one fan question, Sabalenka underlined that she is extremely proud of herself over not quitting during rough times.
“What’s something your younger self would be proud of today?” a fan asked Sabalenka. Responding to the question, Sabalenka wrote: “That I didn’t quit on my dream during a rough time.”
In 2022, Sabalenka started experiencing major difficulties on her serve – that negatively impacted her results – and the Belarusian’s career appeared to be going downhill. But Sabalenka refused to quit during rough and challenging times as she put in the work and did her best to change her situation. Then at the start of the 2023 season, Sabalenka became a Grand Slam champion at the Australian Open before also reaching the world No. 1 spot for the first time in September.
The 2024 season also started well for Sabalenka, who defended her Australian Open title and now has two Grand Slams in her collection.
