On Monday, the loser of each respective match will play a consolation match at 10 am ET, while the winners will battle for a spot at the 2024 ITA National Indoor Team Championships at 1:30 pm CT.

“Our guys played some great tennis last week”

Auburn coach Bobby Reynolds said on the eve of the challenges: “We’re playing a great Texas A&M team. There’s not much difference from the roster we’ve seen the last couple of years. It’ll depend on a lot of the games we’ve played in past and hopefully we can get those matches that we’re looking for.

Our guys played some great tennis last week and we’re happy with the level we’re playing at. It’s about going out and continuing to play at that level and having that confidence in us themselves.”

Auburn will face the Aggies in the first game of the event on Sunday, then face the winner of Louisiana’s game against Georgia on Monday. Texas A&M and Georgia will enter Sunday with 2-0 records while Louisiana will begin Sunday with an 0-3 record . In the ITA’s most recent individual rankings, the Bulldogs have four players in singles and a pair in doubles, while Texas A&M claims two players in the singles rankings.

The Tigers started the strong season with back-to-back wins to open the season on Jan. 14 over Samford and Alabama State. The team then missed action the following week when games against Tulane and Alabama A&M scheduled for January 20 were postponed.
