The pregnant wife of Jason Day has told him that even if his fifth child is born during the Tour Championship tournament, he should continue playing until the end of the event. Ellie Day has been a huge support in his career since the early days.

She did not want her husband to miss out on a potentially great result due to the birth of a child. However, Jason hopes that the birth will still happen after the tournament is over.“I’m just hoping that Ellie holds out another week or two weeks and I can be there and spend some time with my family,” Day told Golf Digest, as quoted by golfmonthly.com “I think if this was my first, I’d be a little bit more nervous about it.

She (Ellie) said, ‘You’re not likely to make it back in time if I do go into labor. We’re having a home birth. She said I may as well just play the tournament and try to win”.

Tour Championship

Taking part in the Tour Championship will be a great challenge for him.

The fact that he starts even nine shots behind Scottie Scheffler could be a complicating factor for him. Even so, he is ready to give his all and to show that he is a great golfer and has what it takes to succeed. His goal is to regain the form that he had at the beginning of the season and to demonstrate that he is capable of achieving great things.“I’ve got to play some of the best golf have ever played and I need a little bit of help, too,” said Day.“It’s nice in a sense that at nine shots back, you can just go out and play and not have to worry about being around the lead.

I’m hoping to rekindle some of that form and iron play from earlier this year and continue to drive it well”.
