Stefanos Tsitsipas started the pre-season in the best possible way by triumphing at the exhibition tournament of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, after beating Andrey Rublev in the third set. The Greek, who had a 2022 of ups and downs, is testing his physical and technical condition in view of the imminent new tennis season.

Waiting to try the further and definitive leap in quality for 2023 in terms of trophies and world rankings, the Greek talked about the sensations he received from the court, and his level fielded in Mubadala, in an interview at National News.

He said: “It’s been great, I felt very free on the court, covering much better. I’ve been very consistent with my serve, which has helped me a lot. I know this is an exhibition and that I would like to play like this in ATP events, but I still see it as a very positive thing.

I hope I can continue to work on my game like this.”
